Learning to Swim with Ibiza Swim

The main concern of many parents is to have their children water safe and swimming as early as possible. This is particularly true on an island such as Ibiza, where time is often spent on the beach or by a pool.  As a parent, the teaching of skills to your children is both important and rewarding; however certain life skills require professional tuition. Swimming most definitely falls into that category.

Ibiza Swim places a strong emphasis on safety both in and around the water. Gentle, caring and calm teaching methods underpin all lessons, which are sensitively paced to meet the needs of each individual child. They offer oodles of encouragement for those who are capable yet lacking confidence and employ express teaching methods for those who are confident swimmers but looking to refine their skills. Ibiza Swim teaches through play and encourages enjoyment of the sensations of being in the water. This is crucial as children’s first experiences of the water can define their relationship with it for life. Ibiza Swim is committed to making that relationship a positive one.

Ibiza Swim offers a wide range of services; truly something for everybody. Parent and baby swim classes from four weeks old, swimming lessons for children, adults and those with additional needs. Aqua fitness and aqua yoga sessions are a great way for mums (and dads) to shape up or keep in shape during the hot summer months.

New for 2018 is the Rookie Lifeguard course. This is a junior award scheme of the Royal Life Saving Society UK and is aimed at older children from the ages of eight to twelve. Children learn basic lifesaving skills, as well as valuable survival, rescue and sports based skills. Like all of Ibiza Swim’s lessons, the Rookie Lifeguard course includes lots of fun and games to pass important skills across and keep the students involved and motivated.

Ibiza Swim teaches exclusively in private homes or villas, offering lessons in the privacy and comfort of your own pool. All their instructors are highly experienced, qualified and insured.

Founded in 2007 by Ruth Osborn, Ibiza Swim has grown organically over the years, mostly via word-of-mouth recommendations. Ruth herself is more or less a mermaid – she swims, surfs, free dives, and simply loves being in the water. It is her aim to encourage and instill this same love of the water through Ibiza Swim’s excellent and fun-filled lessons.
